100 MSMEs will be supported from 20 countries by ITC for the China International Import Expo
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is going to support 100 MSMEs from 20 different countries for the China International Import Expo which will be held between 5-11 November in Shanghai with expected participation of 150.000 companies from 100 countries. The micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) to be supported for the expo are selected among 20 countries from Africa, Asia and Latin America. This support will provide selected companies showcasing their services and products, establishing new partnerships with new contacts with the chance of coming together with business opportunities on Chinese market.
The companies are to be selected from 20 different countries that are defined as least developed countries and developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The support will be provided for companies active in several business areas such as textiles and apparel, food and various services.
ITC is going to keep providing the support these companies for participating in fairs, preparing them with a developed e-learning education program. Continued advisory support will be provided by ITC experts on their business managements and interactions with buyers.
Besides the companies participating the expo, trade and investment supporting institutions from Cambodia, Nepal, Myanmar, Lao PDR and Bolivia will be included in ITC support to attend the CIIE in Shanghai.
In addition to the support provided to MSMEs for taking place in the CIIE, an event will also be held by ITC for the Partnership for Investment and Growth in Africa project (PIGA). The goal of the event will be making studies on supplying the foreign investments to the slightly industrialized and agro-processing regions of Mozambique, Kenya, Zambia and Ethiopia. In connection with the CIIE, studies will take place for improving the trade opportunities between China and countries that are included in Belt and Road Initiative.
